What I'm Reading Now

11/27/10- I will start reading the book "Montana 1948" by Larry Watson. This book was lent to me by Molly Socha when I told her I was looking for a book that I could relate too and sex, violence, humor, and was entertaining. Basicly I told her I wanted a book with Kevin in it, so she said this was it. I guess I'll find out if she's right.

12/10/10- So far Montana 1948 is pretty interesting, it is a sort of faced paced book, which I like, and David, the main character, is so far pretty appealing. At first it seemed to me as though he was going to be another Holden Caufield character from the book Catcher in the Rye, which I detest with all my might, but it turns out he's far from being like that idiot. David actually is a bit like me. He claims that he likes to be "wild", but not in a completely reckless way, which is what I like to be. But I still have a long way to go in the book before I can claim anything for sure.

12/10/10- To be honest, I don't think I've grown much as a reader. I'm a bit disappointed because I saw others read much more than me and I couldn't figure out how they could find the time to read and I couldn't. This has motivated me though to make "reading more" one of my resolutions for the new year because apparently everyone is talking about how they read more now and they're enjoying it. I'm a bit jealous. I don't want to be left behind by my own classmates. Even though this is probably going to be my last post here, I will continue trying to read on my own. (Also I am determined to finish this book, "Montana 1948" , during my christmas break.) All in all i guess this reading project helped my reading in the aspect that it made my classmates read several books and now I can use them as my book reviews, and many of them have read pretty interesting books. Thank you very much Susan for this project because it was a deviation from the usual orthodox method of making students read by forcing them to read things they don't like, and also because it is much more fun than blogging. And now I am off to the races!

P.S. Susan my other 5 posts for this quarter are on my first page. :)

What I'm Thinking About

11/27/10- It's really late in the quarter to start this book, but it seem short so I should be able to finish it in 3 weeks if I really get into it.
